What is community-centred facilitation?

At Sunflower, our team of facilitators work with you to design participatory processes where every voice is heard, relationships are nourished, critical analysis of power dynamics are shared, and anti-oppression is practiced.

We welcome inquiries to work with you to co-design facilitation processes, experiential events, and communities of practice so your work stays alive and relevant over time.

Our facilitation sessions can include:

Relational focus and building trust

Embodied practice

Space for every voice

Generative exploration

Pause and reflection

How we work together

We offer an initial complimentary 45-minute meeting in order to get a sense of your purpose, the scope of the work and budget. From this meeting you can expect to come out with a clearer sense of the possibilities, and whether you’d like to work with us.

If we are the right fit, we then work on an hourly basis through the discovery phase where we co-create a proposal.

Our clients include:

Change-makers

Communities of practice

Non-profits

Cohousing communities

Co-operatives

And people just like you!

Facilitation rates

Our present facilitation rates are $120 – $150/hour.

½ day (3 hours) with 2 facilitators*: $1,000 – $2,000
Full day (6 hours) with 2 facilitators: $1,500 – $2,500
Hourly planning: $75 – $100

Rates on the lower end of the fee spectrum are based on ongoing relationships with groups or organizations, as well as the context of the group (e.g., non-profit or grassroots groups).

Half day and full day rates include the 2 – 4 hours of preparation that go into 1 hour of facilitation. Preparation includes communications, planning meetings, session design, and materials development.

*We practice co-facilitation, which we believe is core to liberatory and joy-filled practice. This allows for the highest quality of service to our clients.

Sunflower Co-op provided their invaluable expertise in guiding our EDI action plan, training journey, and cultural safety initiatives, honouring our organization’s specific needs and values.

Their tailored approach and practical strategies helped us foster a more inclusive, respectful, and engaged workplace.
